Welcome To My Home Page
The purpose of the Navarro Observer is to be a "watchdog" on the campuses throughout the school's service area, specifically relating to the Waxahachie, Midlothian, and proposed Red Oak campus.
Articles will be linked as they become available. The real education students receive is not from a classroom -- professors don't teach you the basics in how college administrators can literally try to con cities and taxpayers into trying to pay a property tax even after the administrators were told no.
In all honesty, this page is here to serve students, staff, citizens and taxpayers by keeping tabs on Navarro College. |
Updates
Navarro's Ellis County teacher-appreciation award election was rigged: http://www.ntimc.org/newswire.php?story_id=2345
Red Oak, Navarro officials scrutinized http://www.ntimc.org/newswire.php?story_id=2508
Waxahachie taxpayers grant Navarro College $250,000 'gift' Navarro will spend $2.4 million on building expansion at the Waxahachie campus in exchange for a $250,000 "gift" from City of Waxahachie taxpayers to "lease" a parking lot. We need parking, obviously, but why should this concern us? Because Ellis County residents voted not to adopt a Navarro tax. By end-rounding the will of the voters, Navarro has sneaked past the citizens and obtained this subsidy - think of it as being denied $50 from your dad, but going in his wallet to steal it anyway.
Midlothian's Navarro campus opens in '06 - who really pays? Nothing has been said how future phases will be funded, but I guarantee you the taxpayers will be the ones footing the bill.
I have no problem with Navarro; I'm attending the Waxahachie school full-time in fall. But if nobody stands up for what is right --- and look, these situations are not right --- then who will? I personally don't want to be associated with unethical (yeah, I said UNETHICAL) leadership.
Money for our out-of-district fees, tuition, and the over-over-priced books comes from taxpayer funds -- the same $$$ being used to pay Navarro employees.
The Navarro Observer will be updated as more articles are received and submitted. It is ultimately up to the public - and to the readers - to make up their own minds. Just because a public institution such as Navarro is providing educational services does not mean that the light of public scrutiny should not be applied.
In fact, above anything, teachers and administrators should be held to higher standards due to the fact they are literally "molding" students to fit their curriculum. Those who are offended by what is written are obviously offended by the truth. |
Got a news tip?
Have a news tip Navarro Observer should know about? Want to become a reporter? Send inquiries to joeydauben@hotmail.com - you can remain anonymous. Our purpose is to make sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, and to make sure that Navarro officials are held to accountable standards. Unethical leaders are our enemy. |

A real education
Let's face it: the real education people receive is not from a textbook, or an 8 a.m. classroom lecture. The real-world can't be taught in school. However, to complement paying for the basic information Navarro does teach, the Navarro Observer will give students the real scoop.
There's no such thing as censorship with the Observer. Ironically, that's precisely what Navarro College administrators will try to do: censor the real information from ever hitting the public eye.
That's not the right way to do things. Rest assured, however, that the Navarro Observer will be relentless in its pursuit of doing what's right - and if that means Navarro employees must lose their jobs as a result, so be it. |
